A bouncing baby BOY

We went for our 19 week ultrasound last week and found out that we are expecting a baby boy in March. His scans show that he is very healthy and active. We couldn't be more excited about having a boy. I was convinced that I was having a girl but being wrong is okay by me. We haven't formally decided on a name but it will either be James Nathaniel or Nathaniel James. We aren't sure what order we like best. If we use Nathaniel as his first name we are going to call him Nathaniel. I don't see Josh or I calling him Nate. It doesn't feel natural at all. Most everyone has expressed their opinions on this topic and most are not a fan of the name James. I have to say that I actually really love the name James. It is a strong and normal name. It is not like the top 10 names that are likely to fade in a few years, and I think the world has enough Aidens and Haydens and Jacobs. James was Jesus' brother. What could be better than that right?!? And he's my kid right? So I can call him whatever I want. I could name him something crazy like celebrities do, Moonblood?, and it wouldn't matter because he is MINE! Both names come from Josh's grandfathers. They have both gone to be with Jesus and we thought it was appropriate to bring both the Pratt and Sizemore sides of the family together in one name. We are the only option to carry on the Sizemore name so I guess it is a good thing we are having a boy. Here are some of the other ultrasound scans. Sorry about the quality of these. My scanner is broken.

Boy parts.

A foot, I'm pretty sure this means he is a Tar Heel fan. =)
Looking straight at us. You can see eyes, nose, mouth, chin and belly. There is also an arm up above his head because he really didn't like the wand pushing on him. He kept trying to push it away.

Another of him looking at us. Looks more like Skeletor in this picture.

12 weeks

Baby, fetus at 12 weeks - BabyCenter

Apparently Baby Sizemore is the size of a lime this week.

This week has been good so far. 3 whole days without getting sick so let's hope I am phasing morning sickness out.

Ultrasound Picture

Baby Sizemore @ 7 weeks

From two to three

We are happy to finally share that we are expecting our first child in March of next year. We had been planning on starting a family soon but things happened a lot quicker than we anticipated. God's plans and thoughts are higher than ours and He knows best so while we weren't planning to have a baby directly before the end of grade testing season begins we know that God is in control and is sovereign over all of this.

I am about 11 weeks and some change now and starting to get a bump. Morning sickness is not appropriately named because in the first few weeks I was nauseated ALL DAY LONG. It hasn't been until the last week or so that the sickness has been solely concentrated in the morning, however it doesn't always play fair and I still find myself hugging the toilet during other times of the day. Josh has been such a trooper during all of it and is such a great support to me. I have also had some heartburn in the evenings but Zantac typically knocks that right out and a healthy dose of chocolate milk does the trick as well. =)

I have not gained any weight so says my bathroom scale though I do feel like my belly is growing and I am eating whatever sounds good at the moment. It changes frequently and even during meals. I have mainly wanted chocolate milk, frozen icees, and salt and vinegar potato chips. Lots of healthy things you can see. The funny thing about pregnancy is that when I say I am hungry and I need to eat, I mean RIGHT NOW or it things could get rather messy. I often carry multiple snacks in my purse to avoid getting sick from getting too hungry.

I get a weekly update from babycenter.com and here is the schematic they sent me this week.

We have had one ultrasound at 7 weeks. The baby measured right on target and the heart beat was strong. I have to say that there is nothing that I can compare to hearing your baby's heart beat for the first time. It is simply amazing.

I tried to upload the ultrasound picture but blogger doesn't want to work with me right now so I'll try later.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day holiday!

Catching up!

I guess I kind of forgot about this blog over the last few months and never found my way back until now. We have been very busy in my defense and with a big move, 2 big snow storms and work I just haven't had much time to blog or much to blog about. I'll try and recap by month if I can remember everything.

January: We closed on the house, started renovations, and packed a 3 bedroom apartment and a 10 by 10 storage locker. We moved, had 2 deliveries, one service call and got snowed in all in the same day! At the end of our last service call (Time Warner) on January 29th it began snowing 10 minutes after the technician left and didn't stop snowing for 2 days. This is what it looked like outside when we woke up on Saturday morning.

We spent the next several days indoors unpacking, finishing some renovations and settling in. This is what my kitchen looked like before I unpacked everything.
This doesn't even begin to convey how many boxes were in this room. It took me 10 minutes to find spoons for breakfast.

Oh, I also turned 27. Yikes!

February: A lot of school delays and cancellations due to bad weather, AAA wrecked the back end of my car, my sister, aunt and grandfather all had birthdays and more settling in at the house. We grilled steaks for the first time on Valentine's day and I made these super delicious molten lava cakes. Yum!

March: Spring Break! (although we both had to work some of it due to snow make up days), Josh turned 27, we started Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University at church, and I worked a ton. Oh, we also planned a trip to Philadelphia and the Amish country with these fun people for June.
Can't hardly stand it I am so stinking excited about a week long vacation with the Reeves! There is much laughter and good food to be had.

April: Lots of changes going on with us. Nothing really special to report but we are learning and growing as a couple and continually being challenged to keep God first and center in our marriage and then ourselves second. I went to the doctor and he told me to lose about 30 pounds so I am slowly and steadily working on it. We are still in FPU classes and on the second month of our budget and it is going well so far. The first month was a bit hectic because we were still learning how to keep up with everything. Hopefully this month will go more smoothly. We did just finish this month's budget and I am happy to report that we paid an extra 5K on Josh's car and put money away for a new laptop and money into our emergency fund. I am telling you now, this stuff works! My mom had a birthday this month as well and I went to the state convention in RTP for speech language pathologists. It was good to spend some extra time with my parents and catch up at conference with lots of other great SLPs.

May: Mothers day is this month and so far I have a little something for the special women who need to be celebrated but nothing amazing. I am still thinking on it. EOGs are coming up and this time of year in the public school system will make you want to gouge your eyes out. We are both buckling down hard with our students and pushing as hard as they can go.

I guess that is about it for now. I hope everyone is well!

Here is some cuteness for you to look at!

I was dangling a french fry to get them to both look at me. =)

I promised I would post pictures of the inside of the house since my Mimmi and Grandaddy won't be able to come up and see it this weekend. Here they are!

New Year!

I am super bad about keeping this post updated! Whew! I often want to blog and have ideas about what to write but never seem to find the actual motivation to do it. So here goes....

2009 was a good year.... good things were brought to me and my marriage. My job continues to flourish and keep me oh so busy. My family is well. My hear
t is well.

I am excited and nervous to see what 2010 will bring. Having been through a storm or two I am fully aware of what can happen when we begin to rely on ourselves and not God for direction and focus. I hope this year I can learn to be less of me an
d let more of Him in. We are starting out 2010 with a bang however....Josh and I will soon be the proud new owners of this!
We are super excited about being home owners and for getting out of this apartment complex! This lovely piece of property will become officially ours on Jan 12. It has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a finished basement, fenced in yard and a great kitchen. Best of all it is in a great neighborhood and wonderful school district. We are planning to have some of the rooms repainted so we aren't moving in until the end of January. I seriously need to get moving on this packing business.....

In other news my 27th birthday is a week from today. Yikes! I just don't even know what to say about that. I don't really want anything for my birthday (except a microwave for my new kitchen) and maybe some quality time with the family. My parents are coming up to visit and see the house and advise us on the purchase of a new washer and dryer. Should be a good visit.

I guess that is really it for now. Later I'll post some pictures from Christmas and pictures from closing. I didn't want to post any inside pictures of the house until it is OURS. Sorta felt like invasion of privacy for the owners.
